It may be difficult to sleep with the light shining so brightly throughout the night, but the participants can rest easy knowing they will not be plagued by unwanted, disturbing dreams. Early the next day, a bell chimes and all will feel compelled to enter the main meeting hall.

The hall looks mostly the same as it always has, the two thrones for Lune and Sol at the head of the room and scrolls hanging from the walls. The metal box sits on a table near the front, along with a glass box perfectly centered before the benches in the room. Now that the trial is in session, Tokidoki, Nana, and Junna's coffins are open, and their bodies will be available for examination.

Lune and Sol are seated in their thrones, patiently waiting for the last participant to settle. Sol remains quiet, looking over to Lune to allow them to speak first.

"Even if it is a rather daunting task ahead of you, I hope that each of you will not lose hope. One step at a time, one step at a time. It is not hopeless."

When they finish, Sol sits up a little taller in their seat to address everyone.

"I'm only going to say this once. I know it's not an ideal situation, but...the votes count, and the universe only gives one warning. Can we try not to repeat last week?" There's a pause. "You have nine hours. Let's start."

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the second trial!

We'll go over a few notes briefly as we will be playing this trial a bit differently than other games.

As noted, there was no investigation period on Friday. However, today participants will have the chance to investigate areas in the game setting as they see fit! This can be done by providing the name of the location you want to visit to the host header comment. To help with the ease of the trial and for IC mechanics, only one location may be visited at a time. In addition, these locations can be manipulated and adjusted upon request to test theories and solve puzzles, so please feel free to ask if you're searching for clues! Your host will also be accompanying you on these visits.

Most importantly, before the trial is over, please place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously.

Whatever happened to Nana? It was fucking overkill.

Her bones are broken, her skin looks like one huge bruise, and she's cut up to hell and back. Most of the cuts look like her skin split from getting tossed around like someone's toy, but— [...] A couple of them were from something sharp. I found pieces of a lightbulb in them, like the ones in the gateway.

[So. That's a hint as to where they should be checking.]

She wasn't carrying anything on her, but there was a burn the size of my fist on her left thigh. The kind that comes from an open flame.

Sounds like the kind of overkill someone infected by the Corruption would go for. Maybe Nana wasn't the Corrupted after all?

She was fire-aligned... And she was testing out her powers the other day. She burned some of her hair.

[ they're trying to be helpful. ]

[ Miki just presses her hands to her face and takes a deep breath. ]

When you say her bones are broken, you don't mean all of them, do you?

I checked. All of them were broken or fractured in some way or another.

[ She just looks shaken by that. ]

How do you even get injuries like that? Some of the bones in your body are strong enough to withstand a huge amount of pressure!

[ horrible. there's a pause. ]

Maybe the cuts was because she crashed into something with bulbs? Rather than getting purposely stabbed with them...

The cuts were too messy to be anything but that. Trying to stab someone with a light bulb isn't effective if you're goal's to murder them, anyway.

It's already bad enough that they're dead, why does it have to be so... ruthless?

I just checked with Lune. The victims belonged to Air, Water and Earth.

[ soooo ]

My theory is still that an air user crushed that guy up with magic. So maybe the air user was the one corrupted.

Unless they just killed all on their own.

You'd need to be pretty good at magic to crush someone's bones with just air.

[ why does he sound like he knows from experience. ]

Air, Water, and Earth...

[ ... ]

So if poison was used, there's a chance it was an Water-aligned killer, right?

[leaberator]

Yeah, there is.

[ powers are bad, actually? ]

We'll be able to know more once we know what powers were used that night, I think.

So in order to make the Nana and Junna theory viable, Nana would have to be water-aligned in order to poison her - or it depends on if we find anything poisonous in the kitchen.

[televised]

... No fire-aligned, huh.

Didn't her partner say she was fire-aligned? Or rather, that she burned herself.

Lightning can do that too.

In that case, Nana was likely water-aligned. She was apparently practicing her element and got burned somehow. She told me, "it turns out getting close to fire is an unwise idea, no matter what your abilities are."

... It looked like she fell in the dream.

If she fell a long distance... I don't really know how human bodies work, but... if she was a gem, it would have broken her in a lot of places.

... no, they work similarly. If someone falls from a great height, then there could be a great amount of damage to their body if they aren’t caught, slowed, or otherwise have their descent cushioned.
