week two: mingle
Week Two
26 in Competition
26 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.
"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. The land might appear a bit familiar to some however... I only advise you watch your step."
When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.
"The corruption is still out there, and we're going to do all that we can to find a way to contain it. But until then... stick close to others this week. Do your best to protect yourselves and look after each other. Okay?"
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
The only oddity is that throughout the week, in a noise that extends past the portal but seems to resound even through the village, there will be the occasional, resounding call of a war horn.
In addition, as the week goes on, partners will find ever-growing feelings of anxiety and nervousness dwelling within them the longer they are separated from one another. They will feel compelled to be very close to their partners at all times, and will be on edge if separated for more than an hour by the end of the week. Welcome to surprise codependence at its finest.

Welcome to your week two mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be hosting a mini-event on Tuesday, so please be on the lookout for that.
In addition, ensure that all of your week one private conversations were reported on the page, and your week two private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

Why?
no subject
Cooking competition. I want to win, so I have to appeal to the judges.
[ And that's the rest of y'all. ]
no subject
[ Is it a fair competition? ]
no subject
[ no ]
no subject
... What's the prize?
[ She sounds a little concerned. ]
no subject
It's a favor. I don't really have anything to offer, so if it's something I can do for someone... that's fair, right? Offering what I can, and asking the same in return.
no subject
Four smiles and nods. ]
Yes. That's fine. I think that's the best any of us can offer here since most other things we can obtain, we can simply... take. Sometimes, an act of service... can mean a lot more than some material item.
no subject
[ IT'LL BE A LOT TO HIM or something ]
no subject
[ assuming he's wearing them ]
no subject
Mm, like these. ...I think you would look nice in them too. I could make you a pair?
no subject
I... I don't know. I'm not much a girl for those kind of things, but...
no subject
[ He touches the cat ears on his head. Akane said he looked cute, so he believes her. She might've been bullying him. ]
You don't have to wear them if it makes you uncomfortable. But I'd like to give you something too. You've also helped me out a lot, after all.
no subject
she.... looks a little pleased somehow. touched. ]
If... if you think it would suit me, it would be rude for me to refuse.
no subject
I think it will suit you.
no subject
[ She clears her throat. ]
If people think it looks strange, you have to take responsibility.
no subject
If anybody messes with you, they'll have to deal with me first.
no subject
[ Because it's not like she has any fault or blame for agreeing in the first place.... ]
no subject
[ His (mis)judgment is that he thinks she'll look nice with cat ears. No matter what other people think, that doesn't change what he thinks. ]
no subject
GO BACK TO HOLDING AKANE'S HAND, MINATO, AND STOP THIS.
Four's face turns noticeably pinker. She's been made speechless and turns away from him.
Good job, Minato. ]
no subject
But also a menace protag, with a smile that teases on his lips as he steps closer and tries to catch Four's eyes. ]
I say what I think is true. And I think you're beautiful, Four.
no subject
Why is he like this when she doesn't want him to be? She looks away for a second before realizing what she's doing and stands firm. She looks him straight in the eyes, and even with a blush blooming over her cheeks, she frowns. ]
You can think what you want. It's not like it matters if you think I am or not. It's not beauty on the outside that matters. It's how you are inside that matters.
[ She won't lose to him? ]
no subject
Minato bites at his bottom lip when Four stands firm and returns the challenge, but if there is one thing he does not have, it is shame. ]
Mm, yeah. You're beautiful both inside and out.
no subject
Those are the words Minato has just said, and Four's mind races.
Why is he saying this? What's going on? He can't—
There's fear, there's anger, there's anxiety, there's panic, there's—
Four turns on her heel and runs away from him. ]
