week two: mingle
Week Two
26 in Competition
26 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.
"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. The land might appear a bit familiar to some however... I only advise you watch your step."
When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.
"The corruption is still out there, and we're going to do all that we can to find a way to contain it. But until then... stick close to others this week. Do your best to protect yourselves and look after each other. Okay?"
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
The only oddity is that throughout the week, in a noise that extends past the portal but seems to resound even through the village, there will be the occasional, resounding call of a war horn.
In addition, as the week goes on, partners will find ever-growing feelings of anxiety and nervousness dwelling within them the longer they are separated from one another. They will feel compelled to be very close to their partners at all times, and will be on edge if separated for more than an hour by the end of the week. Welcome to surprise codependence at its finest.

Welcome to your week two mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be hosting a mini-event on Tuesday, so please be on the lookout for that.
In addition, ensure that all of your week one private conversations were reported on the page, and your week two private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

[So, You Got Injured Doing Something Stupid At War...]
[Kazuaki is sitting with a first-aid kit and- well- he's trying, okay. He's got bandages! And a compress! And no idea about human anatomy! It'll be fine!]
ghastly haunters (and gengar?)
[back at the village, your character may hear a faint, high pitched sound]
[... it's kazuaki screaming]
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
[He's being chased by one of the figures from the cliff- or, well, chased is a weird way to put it. When he's running full-speed, he's entirely faster than it. It has stamina, though. As he darts back and forth the ghoul just- keeps chasing, back and forth between buildings, like some absurdist Scooby Doo chase scene]
[kazuaki... can't you fly??]

Kazuaki... [ He looks relieved? He's so relieved. ]
Is there any milk?
no subject
Mina- aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Minato! What happened! Y- Y- You- blood-! Lots of blood!
no subject
Yes, I know. Is there any milk?
[ He's a little thirsty. Also, he thinks he heard somewhere before about milk and bones. ]
no subject
I- that- l-let me clean up the blood then I'll see about getting milk!
[gesturing frantically with a damp towel]
no subject
He doesn't really want to bleed on the towel, but... okay. He crouches down in front of Kazuaki. ]
Should I tilt my head down so the blood doesn't clot, or up so I keep what blood I have left?
no subject
Um- uh- ... d- down because it's easier for me to reach?!
[and hopefully that's good enough?!]

He seems to be using the sword as a makeshift cane as he walks into the makeshift med station.]
Do you know what to do for deep cuts?
no subject
Eh- um- i- is it still bleeding?
[he's got a sword.......... even this guy with a sword got hurt!!]
no subject
[Look when there are a lot of weapons on the battlefield sometimes you just get hurt. He can't stop every single person with a weapon.
Too bad about no healing magic around here.]
no subject
We need to press down on it until it stops bleeding...
[this is why he has MANY TOWELS]
no subject
What do we do after that?
no subject
Next we need to clean it! [he's tryin' to be proactive, ok, he's trying to sound in-control]
Once it stops bleeding, that is... um, it might sting a bit!
[but probably not as much as like- the actual wound]

she's changed into the ninja garb which is only convenient because it means that she's managed to take the cloak that was on her shoulders and instead just torn it up so that she can manage to make a makeshift eyepatch - which is actually more like a set of bandages just haphazardly wrapped around her head.
still looks like blood is dried down the right side of her face but it's fine. she's not particularly steady as she makes it over but she tries to keep her voice calm - ]
Kazuaki - let me have that, please.
[she'LL TREAT HERSELF]

[smash cut to ALL THE DRIED BLOOD]
L- L- L- L-
[he's stammering so much it's probably easy to take the first-aid kit from his wings]
no subject
[she's not fucking okay
but she's going to grab the first aid kit anyway and move to kneel down because it's so much easier than standing - she might collapse a little now that she gives herself the chance but like
it's fine]
no subject
H- Here, we need to get you cleaned up t- to see how bad it is!
[He pats her pats to make sure she stays in place, then dashes back to grab some damp towels. He pretty much does a little circular loop to get back to her side as quickly as possible.]
no subject
she'll manage a weak, small smile]
.... Human injuries are a little difficult to stomach, Kazuaki. You don't need to look.
WHO YA GONNA CALL
[ then, as kazuaki runs past, ghoul in two.... he suddenly larges out, slamming his claymore into the necklace, smashing it and sending the scroll flying. ]
[ the ghoul dissipates while saix stands there. ]
Why didn't you just fly?
he's not acknowledging that he just did something nice, clearly kazuaki hallucinated it. ]
no subject
[well, he's not calm, but he's calmer.]
W- Well, when I take off, I slow down for a second s- so I was worried that it would catch me...
no subject
[ also, don't call him out like this. ]
Regardless, it's gone now. You can stop running.
no subject
A- Are those what people are fighting out in the field...?
no subject
[ says saix, a man clothed in black. ]
