week two: mingle
Week Two
26 in Competition
26 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.
"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. The land might appear a bit familiar to some however... I only advise you watch your step."
When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.
"The corruption is still out there, and we're going to do all that we can to find a way to contain it. But until then... stick close to others this week. Do your best to protect yourselves and look after each other. Okay?"
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
The only oddity is that throughout the week, in a noise that extends past the portal but seems to resound even through the village, there will be the occasional, resounding call of a war horn.
In addition, as the week goes on, partners will find ever-growing feelings of anxiety and nervousness dwelling within them the longer they are separated from one another. They will feel compelled to be very close to their partners at all times, and will be on edge if separated for more than an hour by the end of the week. Welcome to surprise codependence at its finest.

Welcome to your week two mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be hosting a mini-event on Tuesday, so please be on the lookout for that.
In addition, ensure that all of your week one private conversations were reported on the page, and your week two private conversations are reported on that page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

[everyone's getting caught in traps and lili is no exception - though it would appear as though she's managed to at least partially free herself? you may hear sounds of struggle from overhead and find pieces of rope falling down as lili clutches desperately at one of them while trying to cut away at the rest of the net that had trapped her. some stray pieces might hit you in the face, oops.
but it will ultimately leave her still rather high in the air, clinging onto one piece of rope hanging from the tree with both hands and if you manage to make eye contact with her - ]
Hmm mmmph hmmph!
[did you know it's
hard to talk with a knife in your mouth?]
[ ii. gateway - red light district ]
[you could be about to enter the courtesan house for any reason, any reason at all.
and lili will be leveling you with the most judgmental look in the world as she walks by, ready to completely pass it]
Really?
[ wildcard me up baby ]

[ Really. Minato knows by experience that Shadows are drawn to these sorts of places. Also. He's curious. ]

At least you're not defenseless like others around here, you have that much on your side.
[Lili clearly would get free sooner or later, but may as well speed up the process. Time to climb up the tree]

How did you even catch a knife in your mouth??
[ she can't get up there in time -- there's only one thing for it. miki gets herself under where lili would probably fall, if she let go and let gravity do its best thing. ]
Here, I'll catch you!
[ all 152cm of her will do this. ]
no subject
[this is gonna uhhhh be a problem but lili seems genuinely dubious that miki would be able to catch her
instead she's just going to make a kicking feet motion?? she seems to be implying that miki should get out of the way but like
words are hard]

the traps, though... those are new. but once kara realizes there are still some in place, in this village and not just the forest, he proceeds slowly, cautiously. he knows he's not good at spotting them, but too stubborn to let that stop him from checking the place out.
so why is it that when he does see one in time to avoid it, someone else triggers it instead? and of all people... he has to race to grab lili by the wrist, pulling her back before she can fall into the pit. ]

so he justs levels the flattest gaze back in return to her judgmental one. excellent job, you two. ]
... I'd imagine it to be as occupied as the rest of the village- that is to say, not at all. At the very least, it's probably less trapped than the rest of this place. [ maybe. what the heck is a japanese-style village, he comes from pseudomodern fantasy east europe. ]
