Week Four

As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.

Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.

As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.

"We've been asked to open another gateway for you guys, but...it's funny. It sort of feels like things have calmed down. The corruption's temporarily evened out and the universe is stabilized for now, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking. Take a look and see what you can find on the other side. You might even get to learn something new."

When Sol finishes, they turn to face Lune, allowing for the other to speak for themselves.

"A bit of reprieve of welcome, isn't it? Please take this time to recover, even as you make steps forward to continue your good work. Thank you, thank you."

The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.

In addition, as the week goes on, partners will be able to hear each other's thoughts whenever they look at one another! They may not hear every single thought that occurs, but the link will partners to hear thoughts as though their partner is speaking out loud. The more private the thought, the more likely the partner will pick up on it.



Welcome to your week three mingle! As a reminder, this is break week! This means no murders and no trial! Your normal schedule will resume next week. We will still be hosting a laid-back mini-event on Tuesday, however.

[ She can't fault him, he's already much more on top of this than she was when she looked at the book alone. She comes over with her best guess at moonstones and sets them on the table, then takes her cauldron and just. Moves it to another spot and steals a clean cauldron to replace it with.

She's not going wash something, gross! Think of the effort! ]

Akane can follow a recipe if she has one in front of her! She's good measuring, she just wasn't good at figuring out what was what. ]

Akane looks at the book, then back to the potion. ]

Umm... Just like that, I think? Kind of shiny... This is way better than just smoke!

I think this is wheeere... [ she consults the book... ] The eggs and peppermint come in.

[ Well, if you think about it like food, sure. And she looks delighted? Okay. ]

Ideally there's enough peppermint in this to mask the taste of the rest of it...

[ but let's be real, there probably isn't. ]

You don't suppose that a love potion would actually taste good, would you? You'd notice after the first bit if someone laced your food or drink with this.

Maybe you're so in love that you don't even think about it. It works instantly, right?

[ she shrugs... ]

Somehow, I don't think this is proper testing procedure in any way, shape, or form.

There's no point if we don't test it out, somehow!

But you already said you don't have a crush on anyone, so it's hard to think of a good victim to try it out on besides ourselves. [ Victim?????? ]

Any argument I make about how that would be a terrible thing to do to someone would be lost on you, wouldn't it.

And weapons are for hurting things, but that doesn't necessarily make any and every usage of them justified, does it?

[ nuances... but ah, no, he ruined the mood, didn't he. this was supposed to be a fun thing and here he is talking morals and shit, smh ]

No- it's fine, though, if we want to try it out ourselves. I guess I'm the control in this case, if I've never had a crush before- it should be obvious if it affects me, right.

[ that's not exactly what a control is but you know what whatever. whatever!!! ]

It's gotta be used on someone!

[ T... The potion, or the metaphorical weapon? Akane??? Hello?? ]

Hehehe, I'm pretty excited to see it! You'll have to tell me allll about how it feels!

I can't wait to be drugged out of my mind for however long this potion is supposed to last.

[ said in the driest tone of voice possible to man ]

For the record, I take no responsibility for my actions under its influence. And don't forget, you're drinking it too, so.

[ hey you two, maybe you should tell someone else about this before you both down it. no? fair enough, carry on, they'll get to boggle at whatever happens. ]

[ Why would they need to tell anyone? Everything is fiiiiiine!

Once it's looking ready, Akane cheerfully serves some up into a vial for herself, then waits for him to do the same. Then they can trade! ]

It's just a crush. Or - do you think you're the obsessive type when it comes to love?

I don't know, and for all we know there could be complications to whatever kind of love a concoction like this can brew up.

Who knows, maybe we accidentally boiled it for just a little too long or put in just a little too much of something, and what was supposed to be a crush ended up something distinctly different.

[ that didn't actually answer her question, but hey. he's still bottling it up because it looks right, squinting at the description in the book again, and reminding himself 'better them than someone unsuspecting' (they have hunk for that).

[ I can't believe Julius failed the test to become Akane's impulse control.

After they've traded, Akane drinks the potion! Nice. This definitely won't end badly. She watches Julius expectantly and seems normal so far? ]

That's true. We might even be poisoning ourselves. [ ... she says, AFTER drinking it? Hm. Hm. ]

[ he'll be her impulse control the rest of the time when he's less concerned that if he turns her down now she'll just dose the next unsuspecting pair that might look fun to drug and cause even MORE chaos. surely this is limiting the fallout,

though he channels britt and closes his eyes when she actually agrees. ]

Don't say things like that right before one of us drinks this.

[ that said, he also drinks the potion! hm. all right, we're fine. probably. he does study her a little appraisingly as the potion settles or something, because. ]

So. Feeling particularly poisoned? Should either of us be going for the charcoal right about now?

[ they did just down a questionable substance, after all. ]

I don't think I'll need that.

[ She leans towards him. A bit, uh. Close. Hm. ]
