The transition from unconsciousness to the waking world is practically seamless. Though you're certain this wasn't where you meant to end up, for a few brief moments it's hard to grasp the situation and take in your surroundings.

A soft twilight lights your way, casting a glow over the sprawling village that fans out around you. Just outside of the large meeting hall you'll find yourself awakening among several others who have found themselves in this place. There's a sense of peace that looms over the area, the only sounds being the cheerful chirp of a stray bird or two and the babbling brook that runs through the village itself.

Stand up, dust yourself off and set out. There are plenty of places to explore and should you venture far enough you'll even find several little houses throughout the village. It may take some time, but as you check out each house you'll soon come across something that belongs to you...along with something that doesn't. It seems that this new residence is yours to share. As for the village itself, the other buildings appear open and well-stocked, providing you with a variety of amenities to utilize. The paths leading out of the village, however, are guarded by four ornate wooden gates. No matter how hard you try, they will not let you past. It seems that the time isn't right yet.

Speaking of, the only way to truly track the passage of time is by charting the movements of the sun but that can prove to be quite difficult as well. As the sun dips below the horizon and the night sky fills with stars, the bell at the shrine rings out to signal the end of your first day. No one else has arrived. It's only you and these strangers for now.

It seems as though you'll have plenty of time to get acquainted with your fellow companions. Make yourself comfortable; when the time is right, answers will appear.



Welcome to the soft intro of Subdivided! This is your intro mingle and the current conditions will last through the weekend until Monday, June 3rd at which point the weekly log will go up. Your characters will not know anything about the partner system, how powers work or any plot-relevant information until Monday. However, characters are free to discover their power through trial and error and will have access to their item from home immediately.

Please note that an additional top-level to introduce NPCs and Game Mechanics will go up on Sunday, 4 PM EST.

[the voice coming from the figure in the dark robe seems to be carry a depth, their cadence slow and measured, even if the actual content of their words seems a bit... detached?]

You are all doing very well to examine your surroundings and meet one another. I hope you have enjoyed the farm and each other's company.

Where to begin... I am... Lune? [a pause, and then a nod to themselves] Yes. You may address me as Lune, or let me know if there is an alternative to your liking.

[when they continue, their voice carries a note of warmth]

Mm. It is a pleasure to meet all of you. If there is anything I can share with you to ease your worries, please do tell. I am listening.

[ Akane giggles. She's doing her best to sound friendly and casual, but also respectful??? It is up to you to determine which she succeeds at more. (Probably not respectful, when she just laughed at them??) ]

[ maybe just in the sense that you can introduce yourself at whatever name you like, or get nicknames?? oh well, she's still asking. ]

Hmm... [a thoughtful pause, with sincere consideration behind it] I suppose you must complete what you have been brought here for, or otherwise aid in reaching that ending.

You must miss your home dearly. [they place a hand over their chest and give a slight bow, bending from the waist] I apologize.

[stillstands]

Which is? There's been no directions for us, or any sort of task given to us either. If there's something for us to do, then tell us so we can get it finished.

[ ... she looks a bit surprised at that. Then uncertain. ]

I need to go back. There are people there I can't leave alone. Not the place.

[ he seems to be thinking how to address them....... anyway ]

But you are correct that we did. Did you enjoy the time you had before this?

Whether I chose it myself or not, I do not find it disagreeable.

But I suppose you can say that I am still becoming adjusted to it. It rings differently than the one I am used to.

[ That's not the most pressing question she wants to ask, but it's a start. ]

Well you see, the universe chose you to be here.

Where did you get all the information on the scrolls!? Why is everyone's information on the scrolls!? Is this a different planet or alternate universe or virtual reality thing or hell or some kind of dreamscape!? What's with the powers list on the big scroll!? The absolutely most important question here is why doesn't that metal box move and what's in it!?

I cannot, because I do not know how long it will take for you all to come to your conclusion in this problem.

[everyone's asking lune to see in the future......... if only they could!]

I would send you home if I could - but it was not my choice for you to be here. It was not the young one's either. I apologize for our inability to provide relief in that aspect.

[She greets the cloaked figures politely and if she hadn't been close by it might have been hard to notice her speaking at all. She looks around to see if anyone else may be listening in on them and then quietly presents her question.]

Lune-san?

Your eyes... I wish I could say. I have a suspicion, but...

[she seems pretty sheepish and like she doesn't want to talk about it around this many people? their voice warms, offering an alternative]
