week seven: mingle
Week Seven
13 in Competition
13 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Sol who speaks up first this time.
"Morning. As usual, you guys were a big help in purging the darkness that lingered in the gateway from last week. We'll take it from here." There's a pause. "...we've got a new one for you, but there's something really weird about it. It's even larger than the last, so be careful when you're out there."
When Sol finishes, Lune picks up where they left off.
"Would it be odd to say that I believe you are all doing well? Your growth has been admirable.... Have heart as you continue to move forward."
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
In addition, as the week goes on, everyone will find that somewhere on their person, a small word is printed displaying their most prominent trait. Though they may not agree, or even realize it, this is a trait that most strongly defines them and over the week this trait will slowly become amplified.

Welcome to your week seven mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also have a mini-event this week on Tuesday at 12pm PST. Of note, this mini-event will be different, so please stay tuned for more info!
In addition, ensure that all of your week six private conversations were reported on the page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

They never expected that anyone would summon them, specifically. They figured nobody would be even thinking about them anymore. It's nice to feel like they matter... They're not used to it, regardless of the friends they've made here. ]
... I don't understand this place at all.
[ WHY all the TELEPORTING between LIFE AND DEATH ]
no subject
It's a lot, isn't it?

their eyes widen when they see him, and they take a step or two closer, the mercury floating about them rippling with something closer to excitement than the usual irritation or anxiety. They weren't entirely sure they'd be able to speak face to face again like this... now that they are, Cinnabar's not even sure what to say. They feel like they said some embarrassing things in their letter -- it was easier to write their feelings than say them aloud, and remembering it makes them feel a bit sheepish. ]
Shess... Did you call me?
no subject
I wasn't sure what you'd like, but I hope the flowers were okay.

[ they smile a tiny bashful smile that they're quick to try and hide with a downward glance behind their uneven hair. ]
I don't have anything to give you, though. I can't even tell you anything important.

no subject
I... Me too.
[ having to leave him behind was the most painful part of "death." They'd like to say it was the knowledge the other gems would have to make do without them, but, selfishly, the loss of their first friend hurt more. Another reason they're a worthless gem, they suppose. When they're around Shess, though, it's easier to focus on him and his kind smile rather than their numerous failings, and now is no different. ]
I was thinking about you... [ a pause. ] But... That probably only made things worse. You shouldn't have to go through this.

[ they doubt they can say more than that, though. A look of vague guilt rests on their face, but they don't bother trying to explain. ]
What happened to me didn't matter... But you matter, Shess. Not just to me, but -- [ they glitch out, slightly, and they shake their head, disgruntled. ]
no subject
You don't have to force yourself.
Whatever it is, I'll find a way to endure. Don't worry.

[ they look up at him, quiet, eyes searching for something. ]
Or are you just trying to soothe me?

...It's good to see you in one piece.
[ he'd wanted to try gluing them back together, but... powder... ]
no subject
Is that a joke?
no subject
No...? I would've tried to glue you back together, if I could.
no subject
[ THAT'S WHY THEY HAD TO ASK THEY WERE IN DISBELIEF. ]
She broke me into that many pieces?
no subject
There were some pieces left, like your eyes. But you were ground to powder.
[ nailed it ]
no subject
[ they grunt out a breath; if they had teeth, they'd be gritting them. ]
Why...? That wretched child...
no subject
[ which is a stupid reason and entirely why he didn't regret putting in a vote for her, even if he did want to like the kid. ]

[ as a sword, kara feels like he'd know that better than most. ]
Is she leaving you alone now, at least?
no subject
[ if she doesn't have that gun on her, Cinnabar doesn't think she could win a second time... ]

[Insert tasteless joke about them being in one piece. Akane murdering the shit out of them is why Emma and North got away with murder, so she'll avoid bringing that up, but...
Unsure:]
I think the shark misses you.
no subject
[ guess who doesn't know about that still! cinnabar. they think it's weird she's come to talk to them. ]
Milla didn't kill it, then. Good.
no subject
[Well. Looks like they're going to find out about it now. Surprise?]
You should go see it if you don't [vague... hand gesture...] disappear after the gateway's been purified.
no subject
What do you mean, all the effort you went through?
