On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

[ He points up at the apple tree, where a couple of knives are stuck in the trunk, or balanced precariously on the branches and liable to fall at any time. ]

I sorta... misplaced those. Was wondering if you could help me get them down?

How do you misplace knives in a tree?

Um. Well... I'm working on my aim.

[ LOOK;;;; ]

[nonbelligerent]

[shess is maybe judging a little, but you know what, all right.

after placing his tablet back in his pocket, he starts climbing up the tree to retrieve minato's knives.]

[compendiem]

[ Thanks, bro. Minato waits below the tree, just sort of wandering around the base of it so he can spot Shess at all times, though there's nothing he can do for Shess as a spotter. ]

If it's easier, you can throw them down here when you get to them. I'll catch them.

[nonbelligerent]

[he nods from up in the tree, before he tosses an apple. he's, uh, careful to try and avoid minato's head.]

Oh.

[ Minato catches the apple, but looks surprised because he was definitely expecting a knife. If Shess hadn't had the insight that's what he might have been going for in the first place, you bet the moment Minato has all the knives back, he'll be chucking them at the tree again and hoping Shess will stick around to play fetch. ]

[fun fact, jan had a brainfart and forgot minato wanted the knife.

so uh this time it's a knife ig.]

[ Minato is just under the impression that Shess is the most benevolent soul, it's fine.

He at least has the sense to drop the apple into the bucket so he has free hands for the knife. Good thing he'd been trying (and missing) the exact same apple, so the rest of the knives are stuck around the same place. ]

[more knives for minato! and once he ensures he's perched safely enough to use both hands:]

[ The knives get safely stowed away in the basket too, along with his few apples. ]

Two birds with one stone... or something like that, right? Do you know how to juggle?

I can't say I've really tried.

[compendiem]

I'm learning too. Want to practice with me?

[ He stoops to dig the knives out of the basket. They're not going to practice with the apples, but the knives. ]

[nonbelligerent]

You're starting with sharp and pointy objects?

[compendiem]

...Yes?

[nonbelligerent]

I suppose it's good incentive to do your best...

[compendiem]

[ Yep, that's right. Minato steps back to allow room for Shess to come back down, because his aim from the ground to the tree isn't terribly great. ]

Have you met him? The juggler?

[ ...Did Minato get his name? He's not even sure he got Shess' name, tbh ]

[nonbelligerent]

What does he look like?

[with that, he puts his tablet away so that he can climb back down.]

[compendiem]

Hm... Red hair? Brushed up, like this.

[ Is the simplest way to describe him, Minato thinks, pulling his bangs out of his face brushing them back so that his hair sticks up. There's also like. the tear and star whatever on his face, but Minato's not exactly sure how to describe that. ]

Not Lea, but the other one. That smiles a lot.

[nonbelligerent]

[ah. him.]

Yes, we've met.

[compendiem]

[ ...yeah. that's the face to make. ]

What do you think of him?

[nonbelligerent]

He's an interesting character.

[compendiem]

[ ...Yeah. Interesting is one of those things you say when you don't have anything good to say, but Minato just smiles at that. ]

Yeah, he is pretty interesting. Anyways... This is the sort of exercise I was supposed to practice. Playing catch, but with knives. Do you want to throw or catch?

[nonbelligerent]

[hold on...]

Did he challenge you to this?

[compendiem]

Not... really? Sort of? What do you mean?

[ Hisoka was certainly encouraging, but it wasn't a challenge, Minato thinks. But his perspective of things have been wildly skewed before. ]
