On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

I suppose that's how humans might think of it.

How cool... When you get home, could you tell Satan I said hi?

[There's a short pause as he tries to run through all the monsters and demons he's recruited-]

The prinny?

[ ... ]

The what?

[ It sounds like an insult, and Minato's inner Satan is taking offense to that. ]

[omegathree]

[Listen sometimes you just name a prinny Satan and move on with your day.]

I know a Prinny named Satan.

[compendiem]

Is a prinny... [ squints ] a horse?

[ whinny... pony... he's trying to think of what a prinny could be. Still could be an insult, but maybe it's an animal? ]

Or a person?

[omegathree]

It's much smaller than any horse.

Prinnies are what the souls of sinful humans are stitched into when they come to the Netherworld.

I have an empty prinny skin in the village.

[compendiem]

[ ...........uh??? VAL??????? ]

...Can I come see it sometime?

[He didn't choose to bring it along.]

You may. Let me know when you want to see it.

[ He chose to own something like that instead of tossing it in the bin, it's still partially his fault ]

Whenever's convenient for you, really. I don't have real plans. Maybe after we catch something?

[It's three feet tall, that's a whole trashcan.]

Very well. After we bring back the haul.

[ three feet tall...... but he could throw it in a dumpster!! he could have found a way ]

"Haul," huh? Pretty confident we're going to catch something... [ he unfurls the net so it lays out flat without tangling in on itself. ]

Do we just throw it in? It should sink readily.

[ But also scare away the fish? How do you use a net ]

[Is there a dumpster here, Minato??]

We throw it in where we can see a school of fish and then pull it out to bring the fish to the surface.

[compendiem]

[ It's Minato, Minato will take his trash.

Alright... He squints out at the water as far as he can see, the water remarkably clear but at the same time, expansive and deep. ]

...Over there?

[ He points to a spot a little too far away to get a clear picture of what's under the surface where a large shadow lingers. It's either a school of fish... or a shark. ]

[omegathree]

[He loves his stupid prinnies.]

If it's a shark we're releasing it.

[But also he seems pretty willing to throw the net over in that direction if Minato is too.]

[compendiem]

Sure. That's fair.

[ Minato is more than willing to have the net thrown, but it'll be on Val to actually throw the net. There's no way Minato can get it that far out into the water. ]

[omegathree]

[Oh he can get it out there without a problem. I hope there's like a part he can use to tug it back.]

[compendiem]

[ There is not a part he can use to tug it back.

But Minato does have a tree branch with him that he'll lend Val if prompted? They can... attempt fishing the net out that way. ]

[omegathree]

How are we getting it back?

[Listen Fenrich does most of the fishing.]

[ ... ]

I have a stick and some extra thread. We could make a fishing pole?

[omegathree]

That should work.

[Otherwise Val will actually have to swim and I don't think he wants to.]

[compendiem]

[ He might have to, seeing as this tree branch couldn't even hold Minato's weight, but maybe it's the sort of wood that becomes more pliable and stronger when wet?

Also, because Minato doesn't know how to make a fishing pole other than digging out the spools of thread out of his pants pocket and proceeding to tie a slip knot over one end of the stick. The knot is going to slip off, there is nothing to hold it in place. There is also no hook. ]

[omegathree]

[... This is not going to work and Val is feeling a tinge of regret.]

The next time you make a net, make sure you have a way to hold onto it.

[But also he looks out into the ocean and starts walking into it. Which essentially just looks like he's sunk. There aren't any air bubbles or anything.]

.....I'll keep that in mind.

[ Val could say no... but instead, he walks into the water, leaving Minato to pace restlessly at the shoreline.
