On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

[Even the lord of the spirits has to eat, right?

No. No she doesn't. It's completely unnecessary. But nevertheless, here is Milla amongst the fruit trees, an apple in one hand, a pear in the other.

Her main attention seems to be on the pear. She turns it this way. She turns it that way.

She monch. There's a slow, deliberate, chewing, as she seems to consider it out loud:]

But why isn't it glowing...?

FIRE;

[She's dressed well for this area, at least. In the sweltering hear of the fire realm, Milla seems completely unbothered.

Instead, she seems to be... training? Or attempting to. The coyotes in the area, at first fooled by her skimpy attire, have now learned better, and seem to be scrambling over one another to escape her blade, and hightail it back to safety. As they run, she runs after them.]

Get back here! We're not finished yet!

WATER;

[Just as she has done for the last two days, Milla is thoroughly exploring each area. In fact, she seems to be extra-thoroughly exploring the tide pools, here in the water realm. Hopping in between the areas with a practiced dexterity, she stares down into each pool, a frown occasionally creasing her face.

Suddenly, she seems to light up—and lunges under a small rock face—emerging with a crab nearly as large as her head. To its credit, it's making a valiant effort to pinch Milla, but she's got it firmly. The crab bubbles impotently as Milla breaks into a smile.]

Yes! This should do nicely!

[Is she......... drooling???]

EARTH;

[If you find yourself walking in the earth realm's forest, you may stumble on a quiet clearing, a dead end of a path. The glade is peaceful and silent, with only the quiet mulching of the forest, and the twitter of birds. There, sat in the middle of it, eyes closed, is Milla. Judging from the leaf fall on her, she must've been sitting for quite some time.

Suddenly, there's movement. Eyes still shut, she stands. Extends her arms—first vertically, then horizontally—before swinging one hand in front of her, eyes flying open, flashing with determination.]

Hah!

[hm




nothing.

but hey there you are.]

Oh, hello.

[Unflustered, like what she was just doing was just whatever.]

AIR;

[Have you been coughing and wheezing up these awful cliffs all day, hoping to find something exciting at the top?

Congratulations, you have found your reward. It is Milla. She looks vaguely bemused at your suffering (or lack thereof), and offers you a little wave!]

You're doing very well!

[Her hair is flowing very majestically in the breeze for such a... lot.]

[ It's the yelling that gets his attention, but it's the sword that convinces Ookurikara to stay and watch. This is the one who'd been so interested in Tsurumaru and him when they first arrived, after all. Maybe she just wanted a sword?

Besides the fact that she didn't seem to know that he and Tsurumaru are swords, so this logic actually makes no sense at all, but whatever.

Anyway he'll just be standing by, jacket and waistcoat (and sword!) in hand while he watches this struggle play out with a flat stare. ]

They won't give you much of a fight.

[ They don't deserve this kind of treatment, either. Those coyotes are innocent. ]

[The coyotes are definitely done giving any fight. One after another, they zip into a cave opening just about big enough to fit a human, should they crouch.

Milla looks like she's seriously considering it—when she catches Ookurikara's shape, and turns towards him, instead.

Oho.]

Yes, although they seemed initially eager to engage.

[With a practised twirl, she sheathes the blade, and starts making her way towards the taller man.]

But there's not much in terms of practical sparring, and I have no interest in harming anyone.

But you'll hurt them?

[ His face shows nothing, but that does make him a little angry. ]

[She pauses, frowning.]

I'll hurt them? Their intention on attacking was clearly to inflict harm on me.

Should I have held back instead, or let them bite me, to spare their feelings?

[ squall is out here for apples to monch, not to talk to weird people. but. ]

... It's a pear.

[ lea just. watches all that happen. he is glad he is not in the direct path of the fleeing coyotes or milla, to be honest, because he's pretty sure he knows which of those two is scarier.

[At the sound of Lea's voice she pauses—and the coyotes take the opportunity, dashing away yipping wildly. She huffs, and turns towards him, hands on hips, sword very much still out.]

Perhaps the wildlife should better consider their target! I thought monsters had an innate ability to understand power!

They're not monsters, they're... animals. They're not that smart.

[She looks back at the receding dust, and frowns.]

It is exceedingly hard to tell the difference. They could have just been a kind of wolf monster...

Why wouldn't it? There seems to be plenty of sunlight and nutrition in the soil.

Does all food glow, where you're from?

All? Oh, no, that would be ridiculous! Your stomach would glow after every meal!

I don't know if any of our original powers work...

[ It's something she's been thinking about. ]

How does it usually go?

No, but I was hopeful that perhaps here, in these glades... [she trails off, humphing.]

This realm seems to be aligned with earth. As Gnome is usually the one who spearheads the forming of spiritual vessels, I had hoped to have a stronger connection here.

Do... pears normally glow where you're from?

[she has Concerns]

What is a "pear"?

[She glances from the pear back to Milla, like she's unsure whether she's joking or not.]

...A pear. Like, that thing you're holding, which is a pear.

[She holds it up.]

This is a pear?

Being a different kind of fruit would explain much.
