On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

[They seem to really consider those words. New experiences just to feel closer with people, huh? That sounds nice.]

Doing things with your friends, you mean. [They can understand that.] It makes sense. [Their hands reach up toward their hood though, tugging lightly.] But I don't think we can take these off.

[compendiem]

It doesn't have to be friends.

[ Look at him and his lack of social links; he gets on most people's nerves at the best of times, but that doesn't stop him from liking to be around people. ]

But that [ the whole... immovable hood thing ] seems kinda inconvenient. Does it get hot for you, when you're outside?

[ He would die, having to wear a hood all the time. ]

[cyclists]

[Why not though?? But Sol doesn't get to ask about that because Minato brings up a point.]

I think I'm used to it by now. It doesn't bother me anymore. […] It's not as hot as it could be.

[Poor Lune.]

[compendiem]

[ He supposes it's like people who live in deserts and hot, arid climates all their life, unbothered by the sun and extra layers of clothes because they've gotten used to it. ]

As long as you're not uncomfortable... And it's a good excuse to have ice cream and stuff too, to cool down. Do you know what a milkshake is?

[cyclists]

That's a good idea. Isn't that just liquid ice cream? [Close enough?]

[compendiem]

Yes.

[ He's so glad Sol knows about milkshakes. Melted ice cream is definitely a milkshake, it counts. ]

Do you want to get milkshakes together?

[cyclists]

Sure. [Like. Why not? That sounds good.] To make up for not getting to paint my face.

[compendiem]

Sounds like a fair exchange.

[cyclists]

I'd hate to be unfair. So what are you going to do with the brush now?

[compendiem]

[ ...He sticks the brush in his pocket, bristles up because he's not that terrible, but any paint that's on it will probably drip down onto his pants anyways. It's fine. ]

If I can get two more of them after the party is over, I might learn to juggle. Is it alright if I borrow them for a while?

[cyclists]

They're yours. We don't have any use for them. Is juggling that hard? [Minato please stop being a slob, and stop putting things in your pockets???]

[compendiem]

[ He's going to make himself a bag soon!!! but Axel's cat ear commissions take priority ]

Juggling... I think I'm getting the hang of it, but I've only really juggled just one... Maybe I'll progress to two knives soon. We could learn together?

[cyclists]

Why not? I don't really see the point in juggling knives but if you think it'll help we can. [Minato is a bad friend I can't believe this.] It's just about balancing and catching, isn't it?

[compendiem]

It's just something to juggle.

[ Shess suggested something much safer and more reasonable, like pens, but they don't have the weight that knives have that make it easy to juggle. So it'll be knives. ]

And yeah. Balancing, catching... reflex and finding a good rhythm. I'm sure it'll be a useful skill.

[cyclists]

It might help with your powers, actually. So let's practice when there aren't, like, thirty other people that could maybe get hurt doing it.

[compendiem]

Powers? I lost access to that when I came here.

[ Minato: what powers???
bc I forgot about the existence of powers until just now ]

[cyclists]

Not those powers. [Whatever those might be.] Didn't you find out that all of you have a new set of powers?

[compendiem]

[ Imagine that math lady meme here ]

I guess... I was too busy doing other stuff to notice. Meeting new people, seeing new things, that sorta stuff. [ But apparently he has new juggling powers!! Or at least something having to do with balance and catching, so he figures he should just stay the course and he'll be fine. ]

Is there any way I could learn your power? The food thing.

[ Cactus also counts as food. It's edible. ]

[cyclists]

I guess so. That makes sense. There are a lot more of you here than we thought. [But. Uh. Hm.]

Wait you think my powers are food powers?

[compendiem]

They aren't?

[cyclists]

Not really. But they could be since I keep creating food. [...] How's the cactus?

[compendiem]

[ So... what he's getting is that Sol has other powers other than bringing food into creation, and that there was no reason to make this a potluck when they could just magic an apple and cacti buffet. ]

It's doing well. Making sure it gets sun, and I breathe on it every day.

[cyclists]

[Minato this is not how a human diet works?? Please???]

Are you supposed to breathe on cacti...?

[compendiem]

[ It's a fruit and veggie diet, it's healthy. Minato would've brought fish blood regardless of whether it was a potluck or not. ]

Yeah. Plants make energy and stuff out of carbon dioxide. That's in human breath. So I help it out, it helps me out.

[cyclists]

I think the air here can help it just fine, but it's nice of you to try and make things equal. [They think.]
