Week Zero

On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.
The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.
When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.
Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.
In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.
Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?
Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

Welcome to your tutorial week mingle log! Please see all the links within the log to check out the new updates. In addition, your status page has been updated. In case you missed it, please report all item theft to this top-level where all comments are screened. Private conversations are also open and should be reported under the Week 0 top-level.
A mini-event will also be posted on Wednesday, June 5th, so please keep an eye out for that!

[Despite what you may have expected, Milla shows up looking... very nice. Her hair is pulled back into the hair clip, at one side, and she cants her head with a smile at the events.]
This is ridiculous.
[Which is a funny thing to say and look so pleased at the same time??????]
But if everyone is enjoying themselves, I see no harm in it.
2.
[Milla is decimating the buffet.
Plate in each hand loaded with food, this seems to be her second loop. Where is she putting it???]
3.
[On the side of the dancers, Milla is swaying slightly to the music, glass of something in hand. At the very least, she seems to be enjoying the music. Her eyes dart around, until they land on you, pinning you to the spot with a lively intensity.]
You there—do you know how to dance?
wild.
[throw some facepaints at her]

[ it's said with a bright smile, although he's already turning towards her as he talks
he's also kind of tipsy at this point but it's fine ]

It is becoming obvious that she is on a similar level of sobriety to her partner-to-be, and the sway is not solely music-based.]
Yes!
Let us dance!
no subject
Do you have any particular one in mind?

[YEP]

Let's see...
[ he glances around at the other people dancing ]
Alright. You place a hand on my waist, and then hold the other.
[ he's got this backwards but it's fine ]
no subject
[Closing in on Tsuru's space, she takes his left hand in her right, her own left taking hold of his waist—with perhaps a bit more force than is necessary.]
Is this correct?
no subject
but he'll place his other hand on her shoulder ]
You got it! And now we move along to the music.

[It's nearly an abduction, as she closes in on Val.]
Lead the way!
no subject
[Which seems to be what she's doing, so.
He doesn't seem alarmed, he just takes one of Milla's hands in his and they're ballroom dancing now. The kind of slow waltz he hasn't done in a few centuries.]
no subject
Oh! I'm sorry. It really is my first time moving like this.
no subject
Watch my feet and follow their steps. You can avoid stepping on them that way.

The end result here is her dance only slightly improving, and her head down the entire dance.]

You don't do dance much, do you?

[ and yet, she is compelled. ]
How about you?
no subject
Perhaps both of us could learn together. [Hopeful!] All you must do is move to the rhythm, correct?
no subject
[ so in theory, this shouldn't go... too badly... ]
Sure. Let's dance.

Slightly in her cups, Milla, wraps an arm around Akane's waist and announces:]
I am ready to move.
no subject
... Go ahead?
[ move then!!! Akane is just standing there waiting for Milla to take the lead. she might have tried to take the lead herself, but with an announcement like that... ]
no subject
Movement is... definitely happening, here.]
Yes!

chomp chomp chomp]
BIG SAME
Ah, the talking horse!
It's good to see you again, and good to see you getting plenty of nutrition.
no subject
[she's so friendly. swift wind would never suspect that she would be in favor of stabbing a child]
You having a good time tonight?
no subject
To be honest, I feel as though I should be more on my guard, but I haven't sensed any dangerous intent, and the food is so good!
What of yourself, talking horse?
