Week Zero

On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

Where the Barriers Used to Be

[ Akane is pretty cheerfully examining that they can pass through them now, but let's assume you're walking up nearby. She turns your way and claps. ]

So there really is more outside this village. I was starting to think nothing else existed past it. [ She laughs, because that would have been kind of funny, in a way. ]

Water... You Doing There... Haha Get It

[ At some point, Akane has headed to the water-zone, and she sits at the beach enjoying the breeze. It can be chilly this close to the water though, so she has her hoodie up, but she's removed her tights and lets her toes get wet in one of the less stagnant little tide-pools.

She's back to tapping at her phone, apparently having decided that some of her precious battery is worth killing to... Play some kind of match-three type game. Listen, she's stressed. In fact, her taps to her phone seem particularly rough.

... Jabbing at a phone with a cracked screencan be dangerous though, and one particular swipe has her flinching. ]

Ouch!

Shrine Time

[ Akane has her arms crossed as she wanders the shrine, frowning. ]

Hey, what gods are we even supposed to pray to, here? Our own? Or ones from here? Or those two - Sol and Lune? They said they weren't even the ones really in charge, didn't they?

[ I'm down for p much anything and you probably don't even need to ask, but I'm Clione # 7898 on disc or clionidae if you want to! Otherwise Akane mostly hangs out in her own house (sorry), at the shrine, or sometimes the library or boutique. She wanders.]

[He'll go along with anything. Exploring time... is now!]

[ ... she giggles at 'lass,' but, well, 400 year old vampire. it's a little charming, actually? then, hmmm, she blindly points... that way? towards the earth zone. ]

Maybe over there?

[2542 and he's not even the oldest person here.]

Alright.

[To the Earth zone they go! It's getting darker pretty quickly but also Val doesn't seem to particularly notice or mind.]

[ She doesn't mind either. It's nice to be in the shade and shadows! ]

Do you think there are going to be more shops down this way? Maybe a whole second village?

I doubt there are shops. I haven't seen anyone here besides the two in robes and those that arrived a few days ago.

Shrine

[daibanana]

Hmm... that's a good question, isn't it?

[Nana has also found herself at the shrine, tapping lightly at her chin the entire time]

Do we know what gods reside here besides Sol-san and Lune-san?

[Are those two even gods??? So many questions]

Are they even gods?

[ Akane is wondering about that very deeply... ]

Maybe like... Lower gods? [ compared to a more powerful deity? ]

[What is lower than a regular God?]

... Angels?

[That is probably not on the mark but it's still nice to compare those two to angels!]

Oh, maybe! Angels, or maybe just spirits?

[daibanana]

Mm, maybe just spirits.

[Nodding along in agreement]

We'd probably see wings if they were angels, after all.

water

[leaberator]

[ axel wasn't spending time in the water, just kind of walking alongside it, and while he does notice her angry tapping he only addresses akane when he hears her cry out ]

Hey, you okay?

[specialdog]

[ looks like she's not in the mood for playing as cheerful today as she was before. she just groans before looking up at him. ]

I want to go hooooome.

[ ..... she's just grumpin'. ]

[leaberator]

[ he scratches the back of his neck with a sigh, settling in beside her but not putting his Fancy Boots in the water ]

Yeah, I think we all do. We didn't really learn much to help us on that path so far, huh?

[specialdog]

[ coward!! ruin your boots!! do it!! ]

I don't feel like those two gave us any answers at all. It was like all they did was make this more confusing.

[leaberator]

[ no these heels are gucci ]

I don't know if those two could've given us any answers. It sounded to me like they barely knew more than we did.

[ which ... isn't any better. ]

[forefall]

They haven't said they were gods, so I don't think it's those two.

[ Four looks around. ]

If we're to the ones to help shape the universe, I don't know if this place has gods. Perhaps, it's just the universe.

[specialdog]

If we're the ones to help shape the universe, maybe we're the gods.

[ Akane waits a beat, then: ]

Just kidding.

[forefall]

[ Her lips quirk in a small smile, and her shoulders lift in a dainty shrug. ]

Who says we can't be, in some way? What makes a god? Are you one because of what you do, what your powers are, or how people look at you?

[specialdog]

I think a god would have more control over the situation than us.

It's hard to think of a god as someone trapped.

[forefall]

[ She shakes her head. ]

Anyone can be trapped. Even gods.

i came to do water and then saw she gets both clowns for it rip

[Suddenly, Akane is sitting in darkness. Well, not total darkness, but a wide and tall shadow swallows her up from behind. If she glances back, she's greeted with a painted face and a long smile.]

Yo. ♠

[Just a clown out doing clown things.]

[ Akane would usually play friendlier, but he caught her at a bad moment. She huffs and leans to the side like she wants to get out of his shadow. ]

I know.

[ ..... and yet. ]

[His shadow is stupidly big, and he doesn't bother moving at all. He's just like that.]

You should be careful. There's a vampire around.

[WHEN WILL HISOKA NOT START SHIT]

[ she frowns for a moment longer, but sighs and resigns herself to it... I mean, it's actually kind of a good thing... it means her phone can be on a lower brightness... ]

He doesn't drink human blood.

[ can't start shit like that!! ]
