week eight: mingle
Week Eight
9 in Competition
9 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find three large, swirling masses grey in color looming near the sakura tree. These swirls cannot be approached just yet, but seem to be locked and waiting for something more. Later in the day, if those in the village approach the third mass they will find themselves in a version of their home world. This world is completely void of people, but seems to be just as they last remember it. No darkness will be found in this world as well.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. They don't speak immediately, but wait for all to settle.

Welcome to your week eight mingle! We have now hit endgame week.
In addition, ensure that all of your week seven private conversations were reported on the page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

A THING;
Hi...sorry for the short notice, but Jiji--Lune and I got some news earlier today. We weren't sure how to break it to you though. We've said it before, but the universe talks to us sometimes...and sometimes...we can learn things before they happen.
[He pauses again, stepping back just a hair to let Lune take over.]
Hm... I would advise that now is not the time for panic.
But perhaps it would be a problem best faced head on.
[And so Lune will unfurl a scroll in front of everyone, the writing on it a bit different from all the others in the village:]
will be corrupted.
[Lune speaks again, a small smile curving on his face even if it does not reach his eyes. Perhaps he's stepped a fraction closer to Sol, or it's just your imagination.]
I trust each of you to do what you must - but I would appreciate it if you did not act rashly.
[Even when Lune finishes speaking, Sol doesn't chime in for a few more moments.]
...there's still time to plan. Just remember that.
no subject
either!
... This doesn't come as a surprise, I suppose.
Does this mean you'll be the only corrupted, or should we expect others as well?
no subject
There may yet be others - while we attempt to determine where the corruption is headed before it hits, we've found that our visions are rather incomplete.
no subject
... And what would you prefer the outcome to be?
no subject
I am too old to foolishly cling onto matters such as sentiment over practicality -
But perhaps you might understand my feelings on the matter better than any other.
[of what it means to have a charge that you would selfishly protect]

[she's. so smad. what the fuck.]
First you become vulnerable, and now this? You can't tell me that this is just a series of coincidences. There's no way.

Is that it? That's all it said?
no subject
Yes.
After all, we are the ones who write this scroll.
[why would it say anything else]

I would not allow my play to stand ahead of the young one's safety. If there was more, it would be shared.

kara fucking hates this
he's quiet for a while, staring at mikazuki, before asking quietly: ]
Do you need me to break you?
no subject
[bitch,
but also there's a moment where lune's gaze drifts elsewhere and then he smiles]
... there is something that I must see to, but perhaps if that matter is taken care of, I might allow it.
no subject
[ he's not stronger than mikazuki and he knows it, but he can't just stand by and do nothing here, either. jiji should know that. ]
...If it's something I can help with, tell me. Otherwise, you know where to find me when it's done.
no subject
[there is a soft laugh]
We can, at the very least, allow you this much without our interference.

Are you sure?
no subject
We would not share it if it was not certain.
[ . . . ]
It will be alright, Emma.
no subject
[besides, well. the obvious.]
no subject
Some chapters are fated to end, Emma.
I suppose that does not mean that it will need to be swift or immediate... but I am not afraid.
