On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

[ ookurikara has some vague knowledge of western-style dances, so he just accepts this and takes tsuru's hand without complaint. he has probably taste-tested more of the liquor than he needed to in order for this to happen. ]

[ he's danced with a few people so he has a very general idea? he'd be better if he was less, uh, drunk

but tsuru doesn't see that as a problem. ]

[ there's a grin, and he places a hand on kara's waist. ]

[ the grin lesses for a second as he thinks about this, but then it's back with a nod. ]

sounds a little awkward, but okay. he gives tsuru a doubtful glance as he does so. ]

And this is going to help us in battle?

It's trickier than it looks! We'll get used to each other's movements.

[ kara is not 100% convinced if this is how they have to start, but... they're already here, so they might as well give it a shot. ]

[ and he'll start moving

at the very least, he's doing it normally? mostly because even if kara's drunk he's still likely to back out if it becomes too obvious that tsuru is mostly goofing off ]

[ he's still expecting tsuru to do something weird at some point, because that's what he does, but... for now, it isn't bad. ookurikara is mostly focused on the footwork - the steps themselves are simple, it's performing them so close to someone else that's the challenge.

he's kind of enjoying it, though? weird. ]

[ tsuru is also enjoying it, but it's more the fact that it's ookurikara doing something with a friend than the actual dancing. out of everything else that happened tonight, he'll continue this the best part of it.

but he'l also start to go a little faster. ]

[ moving faster just seems like a dare, and when has kara ever backed down from that? this is still slow compared to how quickly a battle can go, so he matches tsuru easily. ]

[ it's definitely a dare, especially going by tsuru's tone. it's very playful. ]

[ good thing tsuru dies after this because he's the only one who can get to kara so fucking easily

but he'll pick up the speed again. it's still not quite as fast as a battle, but it does have the added difficulty of a different kind of footwork than what they're used to doing while fighting. ]

[ now this is better - harder to keep up with in such close quarters, but that makes it more fun. it's closer to a battle this way, even if the footwork is all wrong.

he's almost smiling, even! ]

[ or else your foot is going to be stomped on, which tsuru just narrowly avoids doing to ookurikara just now. ]
