week five: mingle
Week Five
22 in Competition
22 in Competition
As the sun rises on Monday morning, all participants will find themselves awakening with a sense of purpose. Regardless of where they slept the night before, they’ll find themselves compelled to return to the main meeting hall first thing in the morning.
Approaching the hall, however, they will find a large, swirling mass grey in color looming near the sakura tree. This swirl cannot be approached just yet, but seems to be locked and waiting for something more.
As the last member of the village enters the hall, they will find Lune and Sol at the head of the room. Though they’re together, it’s Lune who speaks up first this time.
"Good morning, good morning. You've done well to purge the corruption in the previous gateway - allow us to assist with the finishing touches. For the time being, it would appear as though we've been able to locate another. I would not grow complacent, but I also wonder if you all might enjoy the surprise."
When Lune finishes, Sol chimes in from their place at Lune's side.
"Maybe we can have another week like the last. It'd be nice, wouldn't it? Good luck out there."
The moment participants leave the hall, they will find that the gateway has changed from grey to white, the opening widening enough for multiple people to step through. The Signs will soon take their leave, and all will remain peaceful once more.
In addition, as the week goes on, partners will begin to see odd mirages and hear voices calling for them. Even though they might not realize it, these phantoms that will be haunting them will be their partner's most important person, calling for them to come home. Partners will only be able to see each other's illusions if they make physical contact.

Welcome to your week five mingle! As a reminder, murder proposals are open. We will also be having another CYOA this week! Sign ups are here and will close on Tuesday at 8 AM PST.
In addition, ensure that all of your week four private conversations were reported on the page. If you'll be taking anything from locations, please report that as well.

[ there's not a lot to this, she just. sure did get a lot of confetti to the face, and is trying very hard to brush all the confetti out of her hair.
she's not very successful so far. ]
ii. gateway - tents
[ CIRCUS. She's never actually been to a circus before, and now she's trying to explore as many of the tents as she can, seeing what's available. She absolutely finds a big slice of cake in the sweets tent and eats that with little shame -- but the really unique tent is just... the ones with all the hats. Wow.
She examines the lot of them before selecting a unique looking one and trying it on. ]
What do you think?
iii. gateway - blimp
[ Miki's polite, so she's allowed on the blimp without being flung off the edge by her new robosheep friend. As much as she kinda wants to explore the whole blimp, the view from the observation deck is beautiful enough that she's happy to stay where she is -- leaning maybe a tiny bit too far for comfort over the edge to get a clear view of the ground below. ]

gently placing a hand on her shoulder to pull her back...]

...Happy birthday, Miki.
[ That's all he can assume is why this is happening, glitter and confetti are celebration things. ]
no subject
It's not my birthday though?
no subject
[ He doesn't look so sure, but ]
I did get birthday bread, so that could be it.
[ An entire portal celebrating his existence, he hates it already. ]
no subject
You... don't know if it's your birthday or not?

It could be worse.
[which is a polite way of saying, she thinks it's a super ugly hat.]
no subject
It’s a bit over the top, but it’s so intricate. I wonder if they use them in the circus here?
no subject
Probably. It definitely looks like it belongs in the circus.
oh my god gmail
[ She picks it off her head and looks at it closer. ]
I like the decorative parts on the hatband even if I don’t get the point of them.
gmail is trying its best maybe

It's quite fancy. Do you have something or someone you want to dress up for?
no subject
[ ah. Hmm. ]
Probably not. These just look kinda fun, that’s why. [ Hm. ]
no subject
[ There isn't much that's sensible about it for a hat. ]
So it's just a change of pace for you?

Granted...there's Miki and he's not going to do anything except hook an arm around her waist to pull her back a little.]
Maybe everyone's right. Fires have little self-preservation. [Please don't plummet to your death, thanks.]
no subject
[ Plummeting to her doom sounds so dramatic. She leans back, reaching up to flick the brim of Kaoru’s hat, wrinkling her nose when it dislodges a smattering of glitter onto her. ]
This is fancy. Are you trying to become a ringmaster?
no subject
He's also not quite letting go? So that's fine.]
I think I just like the feathers. I wouldn't mind being a ringmaster though. Did you check out the large tent? There's all kinds of tricks and stunt equipment and everything.

... I know you're fire, but those colors might be a little too on the nose.
[ they also don't suit her, in his very humble opinion. ]
no subject
It's the only colour they had in this style -- I had to try on the most over the top one!
[ she's having a good time either way. ]
no subject
[ or is he just biased against that kind of ostentatious black and red...? ]
Or, maybe, if we wanted something a little more eye catching...?
[ this hat is pretty much more fabric than hat, but he points it out anyway. ]
