On Monday morning, the sun rises on the sleepy village, and when the first ray of light touches the gates at each corner of the village, the previously tightly sealed doors open.

The barriers around the village fall, and leave it entirely open. Each cardinal direction will have a path exiting the village, taking the curious explorers who follow it on an adventure to new territories to be explored. They’ll find that each location that they arrive in appears to be associated with one of the elements. As the Signs had explained the day before, each of the participants in the game possesses an elemental assignment, whether they are aware of it or not.

When they approach the elemental areas, they’ll find themselves more in tune with their new powerset, as if the location invites them to take them out for a spin. The new areas appear to be perfect for training and learning how to use the new skills, or maybe if you’re curious you can discover which of those listed powers you’ve been granted.

Just try not to hurt yourself while you’re out there.

In addition, it seems now that more pieces of the core are being revealed, the river that runs through the village will begin to be dotted with small lanterns floating on the water. Some of them seem to be holding small notes. Try as you might to grab one, they’ll always just barely float out of reach.

Perhaps try sending one yourself and see what results you might get?

Occasionally in the village, you might hear the sound of drums and flutes - is that festival music? - though no matter how you search, you can’t find the source… yet.

[ with a nod, he tucks the book under his arm and goes to grab the bottles again. he probably looks really stupid but whatever - to the kitchen! they're going to figure out this... jello... so they can tell mitsutada later. ]

tsuru is definitely in a good mood on the way. he is a little tipsy at this point, since besides the jello shots he's had champagne and vodkapagne earlier as well. it's fine. ]

We'll bring it all back to the party for everyone!

[ and neither of them seem to have an issue with doing this with all those 15 year olds around because if tantous can drink then why can't they

anyway once they get there, kara just drops everything on the counter again and, book in hand, starts digging ingredients out of the cupboards. the only thing that throws him off is the gelatin, but it must be clearly marked because he finally sets it down on the table. ]

That's everything.

[ he's just excited? tsuru is bouncing on his feet a little, although admittedly that one can be because of the alcohol.

he's not going to help at all other than pouring the drinks in, but no one should be surprised there. ]

Let's get to work!!

[ he nods, grabs a pot, and pours in some juice, setting it on the stovetop. it's not a lot of work, thankfully. ]

It has to boil first.

[ thank god kara isn't drunk enough to sing about making jello shots ]

[ he starts humming ]

[ he's too used to this with mistutada so it doesn't even slow him down

he just takes a second pot, fills it with juice, and puts it on the next burner ]

[ meanwhile tsuru is going to open the bottles and sniffs them, and how strong some of them are takes him by surprise

he'll take a sip from a vodka bottle.

hm ]

[ kara over here is just assuming it'll be like sake, so when he turns around and sees this he just asks: ]

How is it?

It's really strong! Try it.

[ he wanders over to kara and holds the bottle out to him

because tsuru says it's strong, he keeps his sip small, because one of them needs to stay sober enough to make sure this cooks right. he just stares at the bottle after swallowing, looking bemused. ]

It's... stronger than the sake from the store.

[ they may need to be careful with this

...but he doesn't hate it. ]

Right? I wonder what it's called...

[ he just looks at the bottle, except he isn't sure what piece of writing is what the

actual drink is called.

he shrugs and goes to grab the next one. it's actually sake. ]

[ it occurs briefly to kara that it might not be a good idea to mix those but - there he goes. rip. ]

Is it a western drink...?

[ since they're not in japan... ]

It may be. I was speaking to someone who only knows English the other day... I guess this place is translating for us?

doesn't know english ]

We can't work together if we don't understand each other.

[ even kara knows that, and he wants nothing to do with anyone ]

Well, we figured that out before Sol and Lune showed up, so it was startling.

[ tsuru loves surprises but that one was more shocking than anything ]

We can tell everyone at the citadel we were bilingual!

[ that's not how it works ]

We still can't speak English.

[ does it matter though because the juice is about to start boiling, so kara will have to turn his attention to that soon ]

[ he just shrugs

and then takes a sip of the sake. he sets it next to kara on the counter for him to taste once he's not busy. ]

[ one pot is set aside so he can fetch the gelatin and pour it in. it's. a powder? hm. we'll see how this turns out. then it says to let it cool for a bit so he'll just

leave it there after it's all mixed so he can taste the sake. this is much better, he thinks. ]

This one's good.

We can use that!

[ he'll grab two more bottles. one is champagne, and the other is rum. ]

We can see if these might be good too?

[ why did he bring so much ]

Sure.

[ he's still not sure about bubbly liquor but let's see how it goes

in the meantime he'll take the other boiling pot off the stove and mix some gelatin in there, too. then he puts two more pots of juice, both different flavors, where those were so they'll boil next. ]

[ tsuru already knows he likes the champagne, so he'll leave that for kara.

he's going to try the rum though. ]

That's going to turn into the... jee-lo?

[ after doublechecking the recipe for confirmation, ookurikara nods. ]

It just needs to cool.

...For eight hours?
